The machine ships with a 220-page black cartridge and a 244-page tricolour cartridge consisting of cyan, magenta, and yellow compartments. The ink costs for the Canon Pixma MX300 can build up in a hurry. On Canon's own paper, photos looked pale and sometimes streaky, even after repeated maintenance routines. It wasted a lot of my time.Duplexing is a manual operation, and the Canon Pixma MX300 offers helpful onscreen prompts to step you through the process. I guess the most annoying part is that they don't give you the steps to take on the literature and tell you that it may not work anyhow. In the end I am going to the local Office Depot to buy the Canon brand because I am unable to use the printer and the time it would take to get another one sent doesn't make sense. What's really annoying is that when I spoke to customer service they seemed to be aware that this was a problem and then I had to contact Amazon customer service and go through the same thing with them. Once I even got to fool my printer to think that what I had was a good cartridge and a few seconds after the printer was flashing "check color cartridge".

I bought 3 packs from this guy and had the same problem with all of them (never got to use the full cartridge by the way). You can mess with the cartridge as much as you want that the printer will stop flash the error and not print anything anymore. That's ok, we could pass by that since the savings are really good but after printing a few documents your printer will stop and start flashing "check blk ink" and there is no way around that.

First of all, the seller fails to state that if you buy their product and even though you install a brand "new" cartridge your printer will keep flashing "low ink" all the time.
